Bread Buddy
Ratios for the things you bake
Coming to the App Store
A reference for the ratios behind 126 baked things. Not a recipe feed to scroll — a card to read at the bench.
Pick what you’re making. Pick the pan you’re making it in. Read the weights off the card. Every formula is a baker’s percentage table with a reference weight, so change the pan or the batch and every gram recalculates — no weight is ever stored, all of it is derived.
What’s in it
- 126 formulas across eight families: Breads, Quick Breads, Cakes, Cookies & Bars, Pies & Tarts, Laminated & Choux, Creams & Frostings, and the Fundamentals the rest are built on.
- Baker’s percentages and real gram weights, side by side, on every card.
- Method steps, bake temperatures in °F and °C, doneness cues and troubleshooting — on all 126.
- Preferments handled honestly. A poolish, a biga or a tangzhong is folded into the maths so its flour counts once, not twice.

Two ways to scale
Scale by yield — a 9 × 5 in loaf pan, 36 macarons, a half sheet — or by weight, when you’d rather start from 800 g of flour or 1.7 kg of dough. Switch between them and your batch carries across, so the numbers never jump.
Pans you can see
Every vessel a recipe offers is drawn, not listed, and drawn to scale against the others — a 6 in round is visibly smaller than a half sheet. No more comparing five strings that differ somewhere in the middle.
